performances throughout the United States,

In Their 50th Year!
local Appalachian folk dancers are celebrating their 50th
anniversary by gathering on April 22 at 5:30 p.m. for
dinner, reminiscing, and dancing. Music will be provided by
Uncle Shuffelo and His Haint Hollow Hootenanny and the
public is invited. Reservations can be made by contacting

Kittrell 4-H Square Dancers as well), maintained by Margie
Smith. Others on the committee planning the event include
Becky Coulter, Sandra Haynes Maxwell, Donna Davis, Leslie
Linebaugh, and Lynne Lee. The location will be at the home
of the Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department, on the old
Kittrell School campus where the troupe was organized as a
